POP-UP: to appear suddenly or unexpectedly

A vacant Hyde Park house shrouded by maples has become a pop-up gallery for the new Artists' Collective of Hyde Park.

Liz St Leger, who dubs herself vice-president in charge of chaos, has organized and cheered on the transformation  "We have so many members with great energy and great skill.  How can you lose with a crew like that?"

For the past week artists have cleaned, painted, and brought new life to the old Olhirst home that Hyde Park businessman John Golden has generously provided as a gallery for the event.

Babara Todd, Liz St. Leger, Carl Grieco and Audrey Francis are among the many members who have devoted long days to creating a beautiful space for art.  As of this writing, track gallery lighting is being installed, solar lights for outdoor sculpture have been purchased, and the finishing touches are being put on the kitchen and back room.
